Issue#128085: Intel - Using the MCU to wakeup from standby

  • Hi!

As I've read in several posts, many people try to accomplish to realise battery-friendly power managment

which means control the standby by software.

We know, that - if the wpa_supplicant is deaktivated - the Edison can be put into standy with the commands

    echo -n "mem" > /sys/power/state

    echo -n "freeze" > /sys/power/state

But what is much harder: to get it out the standby programmatically. I've found this Intel article, which has

an section called "Waking up the host CPU using the MCU". I thought this could be the answer as obviously

it is also possible to register GPIO's as interrupts.

Thus I have tried to get started with the MCU. I've downloaded the SDK an have programmed the MCU

with the sample script which should send messages to ttyMFD2.

But as far as I can see it, the MCU code isn't run (or it is wrong) because there are no messages appearing

on ttyMFD2. I've also tried to wakup the CPU every 2 minutes. But this didn't work either.

    cat ttymcu0

    gives me no output.

What can be wrong? Why does the MCU not run / work?

Hi Guys, This is Karan. I'm running on Ubuntu 15.10 Willy Werewolf, ASRock H81 PRO BTC Mobo, Intel Pentium G3258 4th Generation Haswell Processor that claims to bundle 4th Gen. Intel Extreme Graphics. I'm dual booting Ubuntu 15.10 with Windows 10 both on separate HDDs. I'm playing graphics intensive games on Windows and I've installed Intel Graphics from Intel's own website leading to Intel Graphics Installer for Linux. After taking much time, the app displayed success message and asked a reboot. I did reboot and initial boot screen display was at about 640x480 resolution and then switched back to original 1024x768 resolution during boot and logged in as usually. I didn't noticed anything different from Ubuntu without Intel Graphics and/or with Intel Graphics. Next I ran, VMWare Workstation 12 and Installed Windows 8.1 x86 guest OS in it. I enabled 3D Support in settings but when I booted the VM, it displayed and error message that No 3D Support is available from Host OS... Did I did

  • Issue#73393: Intel - NUC6i5SYH Audio Driver Issue on Windows 10

I recently purchased a NUC6i5SYH and have installed Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. I'm using 16GB (2x8) HyperX DDR4 Ram and the Samsung SM951 256GB NVMe SSD.BIOS  version is 33. The NUC is attached to a BenQ FullHD Monitor via HDMI out, which has speakers built in. I have installed the latest Graphics drivers as well as the Realtek Audio drivers. Each time when I boot the device, I get a red X symbol on the speaker icon in the task bar telling me that no audio device was found. When I click on it, Windows identifies the issue and prompts me to restart. When I do that, the speaker is recognized and I can hear the audio boith via HDMI and the Audio jack.Next time I boot, I get the exact same issue again. How can I fix that?I already tried uninstalling the Realtek audio driver, which doesn't make any difference.

  • Issue#75634: Intel NUC6i3 with Intel HD 520 audio over HDMI issue

Hi, I got some frustrating issues with my Intel HD 520 and Audio via HDMI / mDP. [Description]The Audio over HDMI just stops/breaks under some circumstances: 1. Starting some games in fullscreen will instantly break audio over HDMI / mDP. Window Mode works just fine.2. Using Kodi in Fullscreen when switchin between different refresh rates (24p, 50p, 60p). It can happen after some videos or even after just one video. There is no error or anything reported back to me. After this issue happend the software will hang / stutter and freezes when closed down. Some games work just fine for hours without any issues. I've got no idea why that is. When starting the Game "Faster than Light" in fullscreen sound breaks 100% of all times.Playing some old backups of my GameCube games with Dolphin emulator and DirectX as Renderer will also lead 100% to this issue. The Games "Kerbal Space Program" and "Dead Space 1" worked always without any issues.  [Hardware]Its

  • Issue#160314: Intel - NUC 6i5SYH hardware issue causes reboot loop

Last night I ran into a hardware issue that makes my brand new 6i5SYH NUC unusable. Please, advise!  The full story.  Preamble: I got new Skylake NUC in the end of January. BIOS version was 0028. I put inside 2 x 8GB Kingston HyperX Impact DDR4 2133 MHz, and Samsung EVO 850 M.2 500GB. I installed Windows 10 Pro 64bit, but changed group policy not to install updates w/o my review. Then I updated BIOS to 0033. And everything worked well for ~3 weeks. The only thing I could complain, that monitor didn't wake from sleep (on DP), so I had to disable sleep mode completely.   Problem: Yesterday I noticed that WiFi on NUC cannot connect to the Internet, although all other laptops, tablets and phones in house could. Then NUC unexpectedly rebooted. Then, right from logon screen rebooted again, and entered the endless reboot loop. Every couple of reboots it displayed recovery screen, so I was able to try all recovery procedures MS offers. Nothing helped. The biggest

Hello: I'm really hoping that somebody can help me figure out why the update won't allow me to pick another volume to save the file to. It states that there isn't enough space (it needs 11.8 GB). However, when I select an external HDD and hit Refresh it tells me that I need another 8.99 GB free on C. I also tried saving to the microSD to no avail. Odder yet is that when I go to the Programs Control Panel it states that there is a total of only 1.11 GB of programs installed, and I haven't even had the opportunity to save any files internally yet so how would I even be able to delete an additional 8.99 GB (C says that 8.91 GB is free)? The only things on this PC right now are: iTunes (media is on an external HDD), Evernote, Chrome, Norton, VeraCrypt, Tresorit, and iCloud. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have an NUC 6i5SYK---------------------------------------------6mg Hyper X DDR4Samsung 950 Pro M.2 SSDWindows10 installed from retail thumb drive I installed ram and SSD, then plugged in unit to install Windows10.  When I turned on the NUC, my monitor was full of red lines and static.  I was able to get to the bios and boot from the USB and installed Windows10, hoping that the Windows10 would have drivers that might have clear up the video issue.  It did not.  I uninstalled the ram and SSD and then reinstalled them -- no change.  During this process, once or twice for several seconds, the screen was normal without the static.  One thing I did notice is that there is a black cable inside the NUC that does not appear to be attached on the top end.  I don't think this is the problem, though, because I did get a good picture for several seconds with it not being attached.  At one point on my monitor, an error message came up that said somethin

  • Issue#254879: Hardware - Intel Skylake vCore fluctuation - mobo issue?

Hi folks, I'm administering a new system that's showing intermittent stability issues. The specs are quite basic: i6-6500GA-Z170-HD38GB DDR4 (Kingston) in dual channel config240GB Sandisk Ultra II SSDAsus GTX960 Strix w. 4GB VRAMAntec Truepower Classic Gold 650W PSU I originally thought it might be a software or overtemp issue, ruled out the first and did some system monitoring for the second. So, that's how I found out that vCore is fluctuating across about a 0.5V range from about 0.59V up to about 1.1V. Just wanted some confirmation on my thoughts that this is well out of the normal band in which case there's probably (definitely) something wrong with the voltage regulation on the mobo. The range seems excessive and the frequency of the oscillation is wild - screen shot of the monitoring below: Thoughts? Attached Images

  • Issue#261277: [PC] AC Syndicate Intel integrated graphic issue not fixed after patch 1.4

Hi, I feel very frustrated when the issue with dedicated graphic has not been fixed after patch 1.4. This issue is not even listed in the sticky thread "AC Syndicate Known Issues". This problem has been existing since game launch, a lot of PC gamers have experienced it but NO ONE knows any proper way to fix it. The supporting team also seems to give up, leaving a number of PC gamers suffer from undesirable fps :nonchalance:

  • Issue#322866: Lenovo - Yoga 900 Intel Driver Issue - Windows 10 Maps

According to Intel, the Yoga 900 uses a customized computer manufacturer video driver for the Intel HD 520 graphics chipset.  Intel's standard driver ( released 12/22/2015) appears to address an issue I am experiencing with Microsoft's Windows 10 Map application as well as a map-based application I personally am developing that relies upon the same map control that their map application uses.  The current Lenovo driver ( is dated 11/18/2015 so I am fairly confident it doesn't have the 'fix' reported in Intel's 12/22/2015 release notes. Can Intel's HD 520 driver be used with the Yoga 900?   I can uninstall the Lenovo driver and then install the Intel driver but don't want to risk messing something up if it won't work. Thanks, John
