Issue#1442: Unity - Equirectangular photo mapped into a sphere

  • Hello,

    I want to create a simple VR application.
    I have a cardboard camera at 0,0,0.
    A sphere is at 0,0,0 with a scale of 10,10,10.

    On this sphere, I have a material.
    The texture is an equirectangular photo (working fine on other apps)
    I have a shader (found on the web) to create a projection of equirectangular photo inside my sphere.

    It works, but at the top and the bottom of the photo, the render is distorted.

    Anyone has a solution for that?

    It happens in all my projects, and it only happens after I open VS (double click on script), make a script change, hit save..I can fix 'one' of the errors(warnings), unity re compiles...and Editor comes back to normal..for awhile..then back to that behavior,,, This is blocking my development chi....(I could fix every single warning)... here is the thing..under 'preferences', attach to editor...I can not Turn that Off...EVER....     I am experiencing CPU usage issue when running Unet server (as Windows desktop build) with and without checked option "Use Web Sockets".     I can't figure out why I get the dark shadow on the opposite side of the directional light. See image. The light probe that is in the shadow of the cube doesn't get that shadow. As soon as the probe moves out of the cubes shadow it does that. What am I missing?

    My lightmaps look as they used to in the editor, but in my iOS builds (iPod 5th Gen) they render as if point sampled (no filtering / blocky).     Just discovered this problem myself, this is a big disappointment since I work at a studio doing visual effects and have been trying to defend the capabilities of After Effects as a great compositing tool from hoards of Nuke users who look down their noses at After Effects for years now.   After trying everything to solve this issue including scouring the message boards and forums without finding a solution to this, I finally got on a chat session with a tech person at Adobe.  After they asked me to run all the tests I had already run to no avail, the Adobe agent's final input was this:  "Well then may be it cannot be done in after effects; I am sorry."Despite this person's expertise, I refuse to believe that there is no solution.  But until there is one, I will have to render my Photo -Jpeg quicktimes using Nuke, which will likely result in my finally giving up on After Effects and switching over once and for all.  I hate to throw away years of experience

    One of our plugins from the asset store has a function like this Code (CSharp): public PropertyInfo GetProperty(Type type, string name)         {             return type.GetProperty(name);         } type in this instance is a Unity Transform type. name is "eulerAngles". This works in 5.2.3f1 but on 5.2.3p3 and 5.3+ it stopped working on WebGL and iOS. Instead "null" is returned. Is this a deliberate change in Unity does anyone know or a bug?
