  • Issue#20: Tableau - Aggregation issue

Hello all, I just want to begin by saying how much this forum has saved my job! Thanks everyone! I am having an issue getting my values to aggregate properly. I have attached two pictures below to help explain:BEFOREAFTERThe problem is that when I remove a dimension, the values are not aggregating properly. Each Facility and Cost Center should have 1 App attached to it and taking away Summary Pay type should not aggregate those Apps. Once I take away Cost Center, then they should begin to aggregate. I can use MAX() but then it keeps the same value when I get rid of cost center and I would want that to be Summed. The end goal of this is to track Dollars/App By facility and able to drilldown to cost center, then summary pay type and another layer of fidelity that I may add in. Thanks!

  • Issue#86: Tableau - Additional date time number formats

I calculate time variances in some of my KPI dashboards that result in negative time values (e.g. if a procedure starts early it will be a negative variance from the planned time). Extending the custom number formats to allow for things like this would be great: "h:mm:ss;(h:mm:ss)". I currently have to color encode the values to be able to tell the difference between positive and negative values. It would also be great if this format worked like it does in Excel: "[h]:mm:ss". The brackets allow the hours to extend beyond a base 24 hour period. Currently 25 hours renders as "1:00:00". With my proposed format it would render as "25:00:00". [A related feature request is to support an actual TIME data type, that idea is at http://community.tableau.com/ideas/3315.] [Edited 20150810 to add the TIME data type reference - Jonathan Drummey]

  • Issue#511: Asus - GL551JM Random Turn On Issue

I'm having an issue with my ASUS ROG laptop where it will turn on by itself without being touched. When it does it says the last wake state was due to the Power Button. I found a thread here that says an update to the BIOS fixed it however the latest for the GL551JM is 204 and that was a GL551JW which has a newer BIOS update. Any help would be appreciated, it's annoying to have a dead laptop because it turned itself on over and over again in my backpack.

  • Issue#64890: Tableau - Count of Companies by Revenue Bins

Hello All, I apologize in advance if this is simple. I have looked at Jonathan Drummey and other people's solutions to this but I don't know how or why I am missing this. Anyhow:  I have attached a Tableau Packaged Workbook.  BackgroundThis data set contains a list of companies broken out by date, ID, and user_ids. 7 days worth of data. I am having difficulty setting up aggregate bins. I created an IF FORMULA to create bins, but for some reason only "1000+" shows up even though I have more bins.  What I am trying to AccomplishI would like to set up "Bins" and count the number of companies that spent in each bin, broken out PER day. Ideally, this could be a visual PIE chart or something but a simple text table is fine as well.  What my end goal would look like: (a graph per day) there would be seven pie charts showing the breakdown of spenders by revenue bin. Am I missing something obvious?       Thank you all in advance for your help.

  • Issue#76001: Ubnt - Wifi time schedule issue

I would like to follow up this topic. Obviously, the Wifi shedule does not work with my AP. I just updated the fimrware. It has no effect on the WiFi time shedule.I have a small problem with the wifi time schedule of my AP LR. I set the times when it should be turned off in the night. For some reason, it does not switch off. Time zone is set correctly, new firmware is installed. Is it correct that, even if this feature works, only the SSID is hidden, but the radio still works?I would like to switch off the radiation completely in the night. What about installing a simple clock timer for the POE supply? Does the AP keep the configuration until the next morning? Is there any negative longterm effect if the AP is switched on/off daily?

  • Issue#78085: Tableau - Why does the Backgrounder fail though there seems no memory issue ?

Hi All, I have Tableau Server version 9.2. Data sources are extracts and MySql data connection. I have 3 backgrounders. The system is of very high configuration (64bit, 32 Gb RAM, 7.5 TB memory). MySql Db is on different server than Tableau (which is also with good config) Sometimes there seems error as Lost Connection-com.tableausoftware.nativeapi.dll.TableauException: [MySQL][ODBC 5.3(w) Driver][mysqld-5.5.39]Lost connection to MySQL server during queryin background status of extracts although the refresh extract query is not heavy and executes in seconds. When I look at show processlist there was no memory issue/lock or anything during the execution. Also the system memory on both the servers seem fine too during the error time. I have seen in some threads where it is mentioned that the backgrounder restart itself in some interval. Is that true?  I am getting this issue in this version only. Din't get in previous version. Also, not every time same extract gets fai

Hi, I have been using tableau for some time now and I am stuck in creating a calculated field that would enable me to filter out between two specific datetime (ex: Count(number of records) if the datetime is > "8:30:00 PM" and < "7:30:00 AM". • Issue#91285: Tableau - How to Plot Value Over Time When Data Set Has Only 'Start' and 'End' Dates

Hey Everyone, I have a seemingly simple problem that has stumped me and many Tableau "Doctors", and I'm hoping you can help me out.  I have a data set with a 'start month', an 'end month', and a 'monthly value', and I'm looking for a way to plot monthly value over time.  Here is a simplified version of the data set I'm using:   Customer NameMonthly Invoice AmountInvoice Start MonthInvoice End MonthCompany A$200January 2015July 2015 I've tried all sorts of calculations and techniques to allow me to plot 'total invoice amount' by month, but the only way I have been able to accomplish this successfully is by cross joining my data set with a table containing all months present in my data set, so that I have a row for each company and month.  So, for "Company A" in my data above, the new data set resulting from the cross join would look like this (7 rows instead of 1).   Customer NameMonthMonthly Invoice AmountCompany AJanuary 2015$200Company AFe

  • Issue#92328: Tableau - Revenue Bins Formula - not counting correct values

Hi All, let me start off by saying this is the wierdest scenario that I have ever been in.  Procedure: Created a revenue bins formula (IF STATEMENT) to create bins that count companies based on their total sum for each quarter of the year. i.e. if sum > 100 THEN 100 - 500 etc... Problem: For the most part, the bins formula works by counting companies that spent greater or in between what the formula dictates. Pretty straightforward, thank you Pooja Gandhi for helping me on this.  But there are about 5 - 10 values that are not being counted correctly. See images below. The first three rows are obviously incorrect.Notice, it is giving a value of 1 (count distinct) even though parent 1685 HAS not spent more than 10K. It is counting 87 companies that spent at least 10K in Q1 - the correct answer should be 84, not 87.  Now here's where the weirdness begins.I set up a packaged workbook through an extract so that you can directly access my problem. I extracted on t

  • Issue#105773: Sony - STR-DN1060 & STR-DH130 turn on at same time.

I have both a STR-DN1060 & STR-DH130 sitting next to each other, with the STR-DN1060 sending Zone 2 through the STR-DH130. I do this to provide smart features to the 2 channel unit, which powers a pair of patio speakers. My problem is that whenever I turn on the 1060 by remote, the 130 turns on, too. This is super annoying. I tried separating the signal by programming a Logitech Harmony remote, but that also fails turning both on. Any ideas of how to change one of the receivers to respond to a different program code or how to set one to respond only to it's own original remote?
