Issue#546440: Ubnt - Controller can't see adoptable AP - OpenSUSE Linux

  • I'm having an issue where my controller software and the discover tool can't see an adoptable UniFi AP-AC-Lite with the OpenSUSE firewall enabled. If I disable the firewall the AP appears with no issues.

I have the OpenSUSE firewall set to pass TCP ports 8080, 8443, 8843 and 8880 and UDP port to pass 3478. The controller is able to see and manage already adopted APs and if I disable the firewall, see and adopt the adoptable AP. When I renable the firewall after adoption I can still see and manage the AP.

Any idea what my issue with the initial adoption process could be would be appreciated.

Still new to Ubiquiti. Finally ordered some of their products and I am trying to get a few APs setup. I downloaded the latest software from the download site. • Issue#202262: Ubnt - UniFi Controller Linux Reload Causing Factory Default

Running UniFi Controller (4.6.3 at the time) on a  Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS. I shutdown the service (service unifi stop) then started it back up (service unifi start) and the controller was not respoding. I then proceded to reload the controller (service unifi reload). To my surprise after the controller reloaded the mongodb database looked to be factory default and the controller was wanting me to go through setup wizzard as if a new install of UniFi.  I'm curious if anyone else had expereinced this with UniFi and any method to recover the database. From what I gathered it looks like UniFi thought it was its first time running and had mongodb wrote over the existing database directory with a new directory and database files.  Currently looking into recoving deleted / overwritten files in Linux but interested if anyone encouterd this issue before and what they did to resolve the issue (aside from factory defaulting all APs and re-intergrating them into

  • Issue#280415: Ubnt - cloud key v.0.4.4 with controller 4.8.14-7436 speeed limit issue

Hello community.  I am having an issue with my unifi network.  wanted to share to see if i'm not the only one and to see if there is fix. let me explain.  I have two SSIDs one for guests and one for staff.  the guests have a speeed limit of 6000down and 1500 up.  the staff have a limit of 9000 down and 2500 up.  this is accomplished via two user groups.  Under wireless networks i have guest default to the guest user group and the staff defaults to the staff user group.  it's been working just fine.  I recently moved my controller to a shinny new cloud key.  I have an iphone that connects to the staff wireless but for that individual client configuration i have changed it to usergroup default with no speed limits.  This seems to work fine for a while but after a while of moving around the site which has 6 UAPs and 1 AC-LR i check the speed again and that clients speed is being limited to the staff speeds even though i had changed it

Hey, I am currently running an Ubuntu 14.04 system where I have a weird issue; This is a newly installed system, where the controller was running once, but it was uninstalled. After reinstalling the same version of the same .deb file I am now facing the issue that I cannot access the GUI.When the installation finished I restarted the system and was able to get the "wizard" page of the GUI. However, the page never loaded completely, but only showed the loading circle. After about 10 minutes or so I refreshed the page, only to be greeted with: Unable to connectFirefox can't establish a connection to the server at Weird thing is that the service is stated as running:***@*****:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/unifi status * unifi is running but that netstat is not showing anything for the "normal" ports, for eg. 8443, etc. Also, I was under the impression that /usr/lib/unifi should have the once the controller started for the

  • Issue#338009: Ubnt - Unifi controller voucher issue

Hi,I've got a client (motel) who has sent me this message about their unifi AP's which talk to a unifi controller in the cloud "We seem to be getting a lot of drop outs, ie 3 day voucher not working after one day? Also a lot of vouchers not valid." We have another caravan park using the vouchers with the same controller and they haven't mentioned any issues. Would an invalid voucher only theoretically occur if the unifi controller was not available (such as their internet dropping out or the unifi server not responding), or could I be suffering databaae issues with mongodb The controller's uptime is 31 days (which is when I manually rebooted it), and the logs in unifi GUI don't show anything to do with hotspot voucher rejections or failure etc etc.Is there another log I can access through the cmdline on the unifi controller that might help me see what's going on? Has anybody else experienced this and can shed some light on the issue? Thanks,

  • Issue#654296: Ubnt - CloudKey Controller Password Issue

Hi everyone, I'm running v4.8.14 on my cloudkey.  I can still get into the key itself, but my password for the controller isn't working and I'm not sure why... The main reason why I need access is my iPad will start connecting/disconnecting repeatedly until I powercycle my UNIFI AC Pro.  I suppose that might be a seperate topic until I gain access...    I clicked the forgot password link, but I haven't received anything. When I go to I don't see the cloudkey, but when I click find cloudkey, it does bring up my key.  It says adopted, and I can manage - but then it starts the same loop over again where I don't have access to the controller (note I can get into the key itself to look at firmware, etc.)  What are my options right now?   I'm only using this for a residential solution, so I can rebuild it from scratch fairly easily if I have to.

  • Issue#822336: Ubnt - Script for easy UniFi Controller upgrades on Unix/Linux systems

I've automated (and improved) the steps from my blog post on upgrading UniFi Controller software versions on non-Debian Linux boxes (like CentOS). I've written a script that completely automates the UniFi Controller upgrade process. Just edit the version number of the UniFi Controller software you want to install, and the script will stop the service, back up your existing version, erase a previous backup, download the software from UBNT and extract it, copy your existing data into the new controller, then re-start the controller. Suggestions for improvements are always welcome. FYI - the script assumes you have a controller startup script that obeys "service UniFi start" and "service UniFi stop" -- though those commands can be easily editied in the script. You can download my SysV or systemd controller startup files here:

  • Issue#850698: Ubnt - Unifi controller on Linux firewall/gateway router.

Been using the UniFi controller and APs for a few years now in a Windows environment, but for a side project, I'm looking to build a wireless hotspot at a remote location with a DSL line with a public IP. Don't want to spend a lot of money to put in anything to fancy, but I still want more control over the network than I can get from off the shelf consumer routers. I'd like to keep the footprint down as well so I'm toying with the idea to put the Unifi Controller on a dual NIC'ed Ubuntu linux box that will be perform firewall/gateway/dhcp and maybe webfiltering functions for a small network that will support about 20 clients. Are there any known issues with running the controller software on the same hardware as the other network functions?

Only fix I've found so far is to SSH into the USG and reboot it. Also, occasionally with my UniFi 16 port poe switch, I lose the ability to configure it. When selecting the device, the configuration tab does not show. Either rebooting the switch or the controller appear to bring it back. But if I reboot the controller, I get hit with the USG issue...

Greetings, I have a 'Multimedia audio controller: VIA Technologies Inc. ICE1712 [Envy24] PCI Multi-Channel I/O Controller (rev 02)' The output of the soundcard to my stereo (via RCA cable) works well. However, I now need to 'digitize' some cassettes. I borrowed a very nice cassette deck and routed the output to a pre-amp (Yamaha RX-397), set the amp on 'tape monitor mode'and routed an RCA cable to an input port of my soundcard. So far no signal or levels are shown. When I hit record, the signal is flat. However, there are levels on the cassette deck. I checked alsa, pavaucontrol, KMIX, I also installed Mudita24 but still no input levels. My recording software available is Ardour (4.7) and Audacity (2.1.1). I can install others if needed. I am running Slackware 14.2, 64 bit. My GUI is KDE. Does anyone have experience with this soundcard? What do you suppose the issue could be? I was advised by some audio engineers that this card is quite good, but is sophisticated and just nee
